Iron Ore

Capabilities

Mining and mineral processing

We possess practical experience dealing with various ore bodies and mineral compositions. Our expertise spans the complete iron-ore value chain, encompassing mining, crushing, grinding, and beneficiation methods like gravity, magnetic, or heavy media separation. Subsequently, we handle flotation, filtering, and proceed with downstream processes like pelletizing and sintering.

Handling Bulk Materials

Our skills cover conveying, stockpiling, stacking, loading and unloading, shiploading, and sampling systems. Combined with our in-depth understanding of iron-ore processing, ore behavior, and modeling design tools, we deliver highly efficient and value-driven solutions for bulk-materials handling to our clients.

Slurry, tailings, and water pipelines

Moving iron-ore slurries and tailings involves the use of pipelines, spanning various diameters and lengths, sometimes reaching hundreds of kilometers. Our specialized skills lie in crafting, innovating, and constructing solutions for disposal of slurry, tailings, and water, even in locations with extensive distances between the starting point and the final destination.

Studies and Due Diligence in the Iron Ore Market

The treatment of refractory gold ore, whether in whole ore form or as flotation concentrates, has gained significant attention since the 1980s. Many gold findings now involve ores that are either entirely or partially refractory. Pre-treatment methods for refractory ores encompass pressure oxidation, biological oxidation, and different roasting techniques. Design teams well-versed in these three pre-treatment processes can enhance the overall value of a project.

Dynamic simulation modeling

We specialize in combining simulation and dynamic modeling with infrastructure system expertise to optimize iron-ore production systems. Understanding drivers impacting capacity, cost, and value in the logistics chain is crucial for maximizing value.

Operational efficiency

Our teams, centered on value, collaborate closely with clients to implement tangible enhancements in operational readiness, asset management, maintenance support, operational performance, and engineering and shutdown services for sustaining projects.

Industry challenges

Production levels are currently at their peak, and global output is on the rise. However, as demand slows and attention shifts from growth to survival, iron ore producers are likely to encounter economic uncertainty and heightened competitive pressures in the coming years.

During periods of change, mining companies must devise fresh, imaginative strategies to adapt to evolving circumstances and sustain profitability. By refining operational efficiency and staying focused on managing costs effectively, they can enhance the value generated by their iron ore operations.

In terms of operations, maximizing capital efficiency and optimizing asset productivity will be crucial. Achieving more with fewer resources will be standard practice, necessitating innovative operational management approaches. Embracing industry best practices and exploring more efficient methods will enhance competitiveness and unlock value by lowering operational expenses, controlling capital outlays, or both.
